Product Ingredients & Safety
Are your products all-natural?
Our products are made with a combination of naturally derived and carefully selected synthetic ingredients. While not every ingredient is 100% natural, we prioritize plant-derived ingredients whenever possible and choose each ingredient based on safety, performance, and purpose. Our goal is to create products that feel luxurious, perform beautifully, and align with our commitment to thoughtful formulation.
Do you use any synthetic fragrances or dyes?
We use premium fragrance oils and mica-based colourants in our products. Our fragrances may contain a blend of natural and synthetic aroma ingredients, including essential oil-infused blends, chosen for both safety and performance. Our mica colourants are responsibly sourced, vegan-friendly, and used to create the beautiful colours found throughout our collections.
Why do some ingredient lists contain long or unfamiliar names?
Cosmetic ingredients are required to be listed using standardized International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) names. This means that many ingredients may appear more technical than the names commonly used in everyday conversation.
In addition, Health Canada requires cosmetic companies to disclose fragrance allergens and colourants individually when present. As a result, ingredient lists may include multiple fragrance components, colour ingredients, or scientific names, even when they are present in very small amounts.
At Dreamweaver Apothecary, we believe in transparency. We provide complete ingredient declarations in accordance with Canadian cosmetic regulations so you can make informed decisions about the products you bring into your home.
Are your products safe for children or during pregnancy?
Our products are formulated with gentle, thoughtfully selected ingredients and are designed for external use only. However, every individual and pregnancy is different. If you are pregnant, nursing, have sensitive skin, or are purchasing for a child, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use. Parents and caregivers should always use their own discretion when selecting products for children.
Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. Every Dreamweaver Apothecary product is made without animal-derived ingredients and is never tested on animals. We carefully select ingredients from suppliers who share our commitment to ethical sourcing, so you can feel good about what you're bringing into your home and daily routine.
Are your products free from parabens and phthalates?
Yes. Our products are free from parabens, phthalates, and petroleum-derived ingredients. We carefully select ingredients that align with our commitment to creating high-quality products that are both enjoyable to use and thoughtfully formulated.
Should I preform a patch test before use?
Yes. While our products are formulated with gentle ingredients, everyone's skin is unique. We recommend testing a small amount of product on a discreet area of skin and waiting 24 hours before full use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Usage & Care
How should I store my products to keep them fresh?
Store your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and excess moisture. Keeping lids tightly closed between uses will help preserve fragrance, texture, and product quality.
What's the shelf life of your products?
Most Dreamweaver Apothecary products have a shelf life of 12 months after manufacturing, and 6 months after opening when stored properly. For best results, keep products away from excessive heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Refer to the Period After Opening (PAO) symbol on your packaging for recommended use after opening.
Are your bath products safe for sensitive skin?
Our products are formulated with gentle, thoughtfully selected ingredients and are designed for everyday use. However, every person's skin is unique. If you have sensitive skin, allergies, or known sensitivities, we recommend reviewing the ingredient list and performing a patch test before full use.
Can I use your bath products with a septic system or in a jetted tub?
Our bath products are generally suitable for standard bathtubs when used as directed. For jetted tubs, we recommend following the manufacturer's cleaning and usage guidelines. Oils, salts, and botanical ingredients may not be suitable for all systems.
What should I do if my body butter becomes soft or melts?
Body butters are made with natural oils and butters that can soften or melt when exposed to high temperatures. If your body butter becomes soft, simply place it in a cool area until it firms up again. This does not affect its safety or performance, though the texture and appearance may change slightly.
Why does my product look slightly different from the photos?
Because our products are handcrafted in small batches, slight variations in colour, texture, and appearance are normal. These variations are part of what makes each batch unique and do not affect product quality or performance.
How strong are your fragrances?
Fragrance strength can vary slightly between products and scent collections, but we formulate our products to provide an enjoyable scent experience without being overwhelming. Individual fragrance perception may vary based on the scent and product type.
Shipping & Delivery
How long will it take to receive my order?
We strive to process and ship orders within 1–3 business days. Delivery times vary depending on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. Once your order has been shipped, you'll receive tracking information so you can follow its journey to your door.
Do you offer local pickup or delivery?
Yes! Local pickup, local delivery, and meet-up options are available. Simply use code LOCAL at checkout to remove shipping charges, and we'll contact you to arrange pickup or delivery details.
Can I send an order as a gift?
Absolutely. Simply enter the recipient's shipping address during checkout. If you'd like your order gift wrapped, select the Gift Wrap option on the product page before adding your item to cart. For special requests, feel free to contact us directly and we'll do our best to help.
What’s your return or exchange policy?
Due to the nature of bath, body, and fragrance products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on opened, used, or tested items.
If your order arrives damaged, contains the wrong item, or you experience a product quality concern, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include photographs of the issue. We will review each situation individually and work with you to find an appropriate solution.
Once an order has been accepted by the shipping carrier, delivery delays, lost packages, and shipping-related damage fall under the carrier's responsibility. We are happy to assist by providing any information required to support a claim with the carrier.
Will my products melt during shipping?
During warmer months, products containing natural oils and butters may soften or melt while in transit. While we take steps to minimize heat exposure during shipping, including seasonal packaging precautions when appropriate, melting remains a possibility during periods of extreme heat.
A melted body butter may lose its whipped appearance or texture but remains safe to use once returned to room temperature. Wax melts may soften or sweat during transit without affecting performance.
To help minimize heat exposure, we recommend selecting the fastest available shipping option and bringing packages indoors as soon as possible after delivery.
Where do you ship?
Dreamweaver Apothecary currently ships within Canada only. If a shipping option is available during checkout, we can ship to your location. Shipping rates and delivery options are calculated automatically based on your address and the carriers available in your area.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
We begin processing orders quickly, but if you need to make a change please contact us as soon as possible. While we cannot guarantee modifications once an order has been processed, we'll do our best to help.
My package says delivered, but I can't find it. What should I do?
If your tracking information shows your package as delivered but you cannot locate it, we recommend checking around your property, with household members, neighbours, or your local post office first. Once a package has been marked as delivered by the carrier, we are unable to guarantee recovery, but we're happy to assist by providing any information needed to help you investigate further.
